Primary Objectives Of Position

  • Work closely with the Corporate Development department to strategise and plan organisational development projects, proposals, materials and communications for key AWWA announcements, initiatives, and events
  • Uphold AWWA’s governance through accurate reporting through officlal platforms such as the Annual Report, website and social media handles
  • Support advocacy efforts by working with internal stakeholders to increase awareness of the impacts and outcomes of AWWA’s multiple programmes and services
  • Oversee Communications in AWWA and manage positive external and media relations
  • Contribute to and uphold positive brand reputation

Job Responsibilities

Corporate Planning

  • Identify opportunities for AWWA to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organisational challenges
  • Support efforts to track and report on the progress of strategic plan(s) implementation

Governance

  • Deliver annual report and accurately communicate achievements, and statistics via official platforms (e.g. website, social media platforms, collateral)
  • Ensure alignment of messages for internal and external communications

Communications and Advocacy

  • Develop and oversee communications plans, identify communications opportunities, and craft key messages
  • Formulate, develop and coordinate crisis comms plans for AWWA-centric crisis scenarios
  • Identify potential media angles issues and plan response and engagement approaches
  • Craft media statements and speeches for key personnel
  • Leverage on AWWA’s online and social media networks to drive a greater sense of community engagement
  • Oversee approval and management of Guest-of-Honour for AWWA Signature Events
  • Work with service leads to develop/review/update AWWA narratives, internal communications and ensure consistency in terms of tone and messaging

Job Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification with six to eight years of relevant experience in strategic and/or organisational development and communications work
  • At least three years of supervisory experience
